This gorgeous 1906 townhouse was completely renovated by Chicago-based designer
Tom Stringer who is also the homeowner along with his partner, Scott Waller. Tom took his love of contemporary furniture, French antiques, and African art and placed it beautifully throughout their home. Here are a few of my favorite photos.
I love the wall of nature photos!
This photo proves you can put any style together and make it work. Who would expect to see an African statue on a traditional table? Design is so subjective.
Again, the unexpected-chalkboard wall in a formal dining room. However, Tom made it work against the shiny wallpaper.
The deep chocolate walls make the white pop! Did you check out the chandelier?
This is the seating area in the master bedroom. Why would anyone leave this room? Can you picture having a glass of wine and reading a nice book while enjoying the fireplace?
Don't forget about the exterior of the home! This backyard looks so inviting and relaxing.

I am glad i checked this older post out. What a beautiful interior. Even with chocolate walls, the rooms feel fresh. And I have to add that my new favorite finish for wood is Cognac. The credenza and dining table.. perfect.
