Beautiful Yellow Rooms

Yellow is known for being associated with sunshine, joy, happiness, and freshness.  It is also known to spark creative thoughts. In home decor, yellow is used to lighten and to brighten spaces to give it a cozy welcoming feeling. With all of this rain lately, I thought we could use a little pick me up! Check out these beautiful yellow rooms….

Apparently, I like yellow too. I can't tell you how many rooms in my home have variations of yellow in them! Makes a sunny room on a cloudy day.

Tiaa, I love love love yellow in all its permutations! Yellow paint is instant sunshine in a can. Especially great for rooms with Northern exposures. Uplifting and intellectually stimulating, it's why I painted my studio yellow. In these uncertain economic times, it's no wonder Pantone named Mimosa as the color for 2009. Thanks for sharing these beautiful yellow rooms.

Lovely! I especially enjoyed the Amanda Nisbett rooms and the last room with the pinks, blues, and greens (which is how I'm decorating my own home right now--my husband's not too excited about it.)

Other interesting factoids about yellow, from a psychological standpoint...studies have shown that babies cry more in yellow rooms, and people (i.e., couples) fight more in yellow rooms. But I've thrown caution to the wind! I'm going yellow!

Yellow is definitely the "it" color, in design. I did a blogpost, back in January, on yellow, for the same reason. It was that time of year when everyone needed a lift. It also helps to promote memory - think of post-it notes and legal pads being in yellow. Lovely photo references!

I'm not a big yellow fan, but I LOVE that last one! I love flowers...

Never really thought about yellow before but you've changed my mind. And I LOVE LOVE the Amanda Nesbit bedroom pic.

That deep yellow with the black is soo dramatic.. And aren't Jamie Drake's room so playful? I actually really like yellow, but my favorite is to see it paired with Bright white.

As always, great post Tiaa
